Parents

Here in Logan County, Ohio, opiate addiction is on the rise, and it’s moving into every corner of the community.

As a parent you have all sorts of concerns for the well-being of your children. As they grow up you care for them in a variety of ways like working a job to pay the bills and provide food and a place to live in safety and comfort. Being a parent means you develop character in them that will last into your child’s adult life, helping them make decisions that positively affect the world around them. This is the joy of a parent, to see their children succeed and live happily. To know you had a hand in it is a special feeling.

So, how do you cope with the fact that your child is or may be addicted to drugs?

In 2012, the Opiate Task Force of Logan County reported:

1 of 13 12th graders
AND
1 of 14 10th graders

abused prescription drugs within a 30 day period.
